Textbook plays an important role in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The truth thatpopular textbooks edited by Chinese can’t satisfy the need of foreign learners very well, hasbecome a bottleneck of the development of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. As a result,many researchers have put forward that editors should focus on country-specific and localizationof the edition of textbook.Taking “Chinese Course” as a reference, the writer analyzes “Chinese for Filipinos” fromseveral aspects, such as compiling content, language element, the text part, and the practice part.Based on the comparison between “Chinese Course” and “Chinese for Filipinos”, the writer triesto find out the differences between the general-purpose textbook and the localization textbook,and then do a deep research on these differences. Hope this paper can have a good effect onediting Chinese language textbooks.
