A Study On Teaching Of Task-based Elementary Spoken Chinese Of Overseas Students

Task-based language teaching (TBLT), which was brought forward in 1980's by foreign language teachers and researchers who did much research and practice, is a new language-teaching theory with strong influence.This paper, based on achievements of theories and practices of TBLT both home and abroad and the exact characteristics of elementary spoken-Chinese of overseas students(ESCOS), tries to use task-based approach into ESCOS. Therefore, this paper will do the following things in accordance with the characteristics and principles of TBLT:. Firstly, designing the task needed and will be also used in ESCOS by overseas students.Secondly, analyzing elements of tasks of ESCOS .Finally, doing practice on the executive mode of ESCOS in classroom. Accordingly, this paper firstly analyzing the actuality of spoken-Chinese of overseas students so as to make clear what should be done, then using five chapters to discuss respectively.The first one is a platform-building throught a scan on foreign language teaching research actuality all over the world. The next step is to set up thought basis of both theory and practice on task-based spoken-Chinese of overseas students. Further, analyzing result of a survey on tasks needed and will be also used in ESCOS by overseas students in learning spoken Chinese in order to finish theory-building of this paper finally. In the last part, based on the theory basis above, this paper will examine performance of the executive mode of ESCOS in classroom throught a particular case, and completely explain the feedback as well as the influence in the future of further study about its continual usage.
