On The Strategies For The E-C Translation Of Tourist Guidebook From The Angle Of Skopos Theory

Skopos Theory insists that the intended purpose of the translated text decides the translation strategies and methods. To realize the intended function of Tourist Guidebook, thesis analyzes from the perspective of Skopos Theory the strategies for the E-C translation of Tourist Guidebook, using the methods of analysis, exemplification and comparison. With the guidance of such principles as skopos, coherence and fidelity, thesis discusses the principles for the E-C translation of Tourist Guidebook. From the three aspects of guidance, availability and difference, thesis also investigates the application of the methods of literary translation, literal translation and comments, adding and omitting. Thesis considers that the translator should develop the guidance function of such principles as skopos, coherence and fidelity sufficiently, adopts appropriate translation methods flexibly, grasps the author’s real intention in the source text accurately, processes the form of conversion between the original text and the target text skillfully, translate the reality of tourist destinations, thus realize Tourist Guidebook’s function of tourism publicity maximally.
