With the continuous improvement and development of the standard of people’s living, tourism hasbecome an important part of our daily life. Accompanied by the development of tourism, the tourismconsumption is being mature, the competition of urban tourism is becoming increasingly fierce, thisobjective situation calls for tourist city must create a unique and distinctive urban tourism image in order toattract more tourism consumers, to generate travel motivation and to implement travel plans. Therefore, atthe competition of this image ear, the "image" has become the focus of every industry attention. For atourist city, do well in the design and promotion of the city’s tourism image is becoming extremelyimportant.The image of the city is a basic driving force of urban development, and also a directly embody andreflect of a city‘s culture. However, as a tourist city, the image of the shape is relatively connected with theurban culture, but also the urban culture determines the quality of the image of the city. Therefore, if youwant to shape the image of the city tourism, and to clear the goal of the design of urban tourism image, it isnecessary to tap the essence of urban culture of the city itself, in short, all the aspects elements designneeded by the urban tourism image must comes from the local culture of the city.Kaifeng has been called the Daliang, BianLiang, Dongjing, Bianjing,, located in the eastern part ofHenan Province, is one of the most typical urban reflect the Song dynasty, the Central Plains region alongthe Yellow River in the vicinity of important historical and cultural international tourist city, therefore,history and culture of accumulation is blessed with. However, compared with the tourist city who also hasdeep history and culture, the tourist image of Kaifeng’s not very prominent, and Kaifeng tourism imagedesign lack of a systematic and effective program urban tourism image to promote. Therefore, if to deephistory of the Song’s cultural heritage, through the depth of excavation, a means of art and designintegration and induction, to design a unique, eye-catching, but also highlight the characteristics of urbanculture visual image, thus to enhance the tourism image of the Kaifeng city itself, enhanced in the area ofKaifeng tourism attraction and competitiveness has a certain practical significance.This article attempts to combine the theories such as tourism, marketing, advertising, art and design disciplines, a number of problems for the present situation of Kaifeng City tourism image, combined withthe characteristics of the Song dynasty, promote a new point of view of graphical design method to buildKaifeng city tourism image.The paper body consists of four parts: the first part is to start from the city tourism image design, theoverview of the urban culture, to analysis the relationship between urban culture and urban tourism imagedesign; the second part is to analysis the current situation of Kaifeng Song cultural resources and urbantourism image, summarized and proposed the image design ideas and positioning Kaifeng City tourism; thethird promote the strategy Kaifeng tourism image design, based on grasp of urban tourism image designprinciples and to explore the city of Kaifeng tourism image design, and proposed to graphical image oftourism and create a design technique Kaifeng city tourism image; the forth part presents the spread ofKaifeng city tourism image strategies and Kaifeng city tourism image in the promotion process design,maintenance and updating.
