The report on the translation of An Interviews with Zong Qinghou is an applied researchon the process of the translation proper. The report mainly aims at solving such problems:why we translate such source text? How to translate it? Why we translate it in that way? Howabout the effect of the target text? During the process of translation, I take the principle ofEugene Nida’s Equivalent Translation as the guidance to analyze and solve translationproblems. The purpose of the principle of Equivalent Translation is to make people who readthe article of translation version acquire the same information with people who read theoriginal one, so as to meet the requirement of the translation of the article. In the third part ofthe report, the author analyzes various translation strategies and techniques from bothmacro-and micro-points of view. At last, the report reveals the nature of translation andsummarizes several comprehensive qualities for an excellent translator.
