Literature is the treasure in the world history. From the past to the modern times, the creation of literature is growing all the time. The literature written by Shakespeare is still loved by people, even in modern society. From his work, people can not only enjoy happiness, anger, sadness and joy brought by the words, but also appreciate its historic and cultural values. Therefore, the cultural exchange across the world is very necessary. Translation is a bridge in this exchange. It spreads the culture of a country to the rest of the world in another language. In literature translation, novel accounts for a large part. By reading novels, people can learn the way of thinking of foreigners, absorb their cultural nutrients and use them. So an excellent translation will produce its biggest value.This translation task chooses novel because of its important status in literature. A novel with social significance brings people not only the visual experience, but also the inspiration of mind. When the translator is working on the task, he makes a lot of preparations, including referring to books and dictionaries. Therefore, the translator knows about the cultural background. However, this translation task has its difficulties.This report consists of three parts:introduction, main body and conclusion. Its main contents are as follows:The first part is the introduction, which mainly introduces the literature value and the significance of Six Women.The second part is the main body. This part has three chapters:Chapter One talks about task description. In this chapter, reason of choosing this novel, content of the novel, language style and dynamic equivalence theory are introduced to describe this task.Chapter Two focuses on the process description. This chapter analyzes the main content of the novel, characters, difficult words and sentences in the novel before starting to translate. Modifications are also introduced in the process of the translation. Besides, when encountering problems, the translator takes measures to ensure the quality of the translation.Chapter Three concentrates on the case analysis. In this chapter, translation of appearance and dialogue as well as some difficult structures are talked about. By analyzing the cases in the novel, the translator summarizes the methods and techniques of the long and complicated sentences appeared in this novel.The last part is the conclusion. This part mainly summarizes the whole content of this report. In terms of the problems in this translation task, the translator gives a general presentation. And under the guidance of the translation theory of Eugene A. Nida, the translator puts forward some solutions. Through the whole process of this translation task, the translator has learnt some methods and techniques, which will provide precious experience for the translation task of similar novels in the future.
