In the actual process of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages, we found that grammar mistakes are not important any more, and the error in textual cohesion becomes a prominent problem. By using the method of error analysis and statistical method, we try to analyze the Chinese writing of students from C.V.Star.Middlebury College in Kunming, and we found that there are two types of main cohesion errors, the error in paragraph and the error between paragraphs. The former is the most, especially the error of anaphora. And the errors between paragraphs are widely existed in students’ texts. This paper also tries to analyze the reasons of these errors, including negative transfer of mother tongue, the target language, the writing of outline and teaching material, teacher’s teaching method, and student’s learning strategy. In order to help foreign students to use cohesion methods correctly, the paper also provide some suggestions at the end of this paper. |
