The object of this paper is "BiRan category" modality adverb of Chinese and Korean. The paper used comparative and quantitative analysis methods, more specifically, combined meaning&distribution and expression&function methods to discuss similarities and differences of syntax, semantic and pragmatics of the "BiRan category" modality adverb. Meanwhile, the paper also discussed Chinese and Korean corresponding forms of "BiRan category" modality adverb. The paper can be divided into next5parts.Part one is introduction part, in which briefly summarized purpose and significance and also introduced "BiRan category" modality adverb of Chinese and Korean research survey. Meanwhile, it indicated basic idea, reference resources and range of study.In part two, the paper compared semantic features of "BiRan category" modality adverb of Chinese and Korean. The paper according to the interpretation and analysis of corpus in dictionaries, analyzed semantic features of "BiRan category" modality adverb of Chinese and Korean to find out differences and similarities.In part three, the paper compared syntax performances of "BiRan category" modality adverb of Chinese and Korean. More specifically, the paper analyzed the adverb’s sentence position from the angle of syntax, namely in beginning sentence, middle-sentence, end sentence and separate sentence. Meanwhile, it also compared the adverbs collocation, which including succession use of modal particles, inner members, other modal adverbs and other adverbs.In part four, the paper compared function of "BiRan category" modality adverb of Chinese and Korean, namely, it compared characters and functions of frequency of use, sentence distribution, like formulation, evaluation and emphasize function.The last part is conclusion, summarized opinions and shortcomings.
