Spoken language occupies a vital position in language study. In the system of the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, oral class is a course most directly and closely connected with the training of Chinese learners’ language communicative ability. The main task of elementary oral Chinese teaching is to help Chinese learners improve oral proficiency and meet their life communication requirements.This paper studies the teaching design of elementary oral Chinese class from the perspective of constructivism theory, shows the application of teaching design with the class for further studies in Guangxi Medical University as the teaching object and lesson23You Have the Wrong Number in Speed-up Educational Program of Oral Chinese-Introduction Chapter (Ⅱ) as the chief source, presents circumstances related to the topic, guides learners in collaborative communication and independent study and provides teaching reference for Chinese teaching staff.Part I:discusses the content of constructivism theory, main ideas and foreign language teaching theory and briefly describes the definition, objective and content of elementary oral Chinese teaching, thus establishing the connection between constructivism and elementary oral Chinese teaching and revealing the significance of the former to the latter.Part II:puts forward basic contents that should be contained in oral Chinese teaching design under constructivism and a teaching design scheme according to characteristics of Chinese teaching so as to realize the optimal effect of teaching.Part III:shows the application of teaching design of elementary oral Chinese under constructivism with the elementary oral Chinese lesson You Have the Wrong Number, knows students’learning situation through questionnaire, rethinks the teaching status of teachers profoundly, finds problems existing in teaching and makes related suggestions for problem solving.
