Measure word is distinguished from other parts of speech in Mandarin.Measure words’ rich and flexible usage is important and difficult inteaching Chinese as a foreign language. This paper reviews the researchof measure words from1898to2012, found serious gap between the researchof measure on ontology and teaching.In the193paper the CNKI core journals,teaching Chinese as a foreign language only about10%, without analysisarticle on textbooks’ measure words.Therefore, this paper take two sets of teaching materials the《ChineseMade Easy》 and 《Mandarin Chinese language》 as target texts. Based onmodern mathematical statistics,compare and analysis those measurewords’ degree of difficulty, frequency, repetition rate, and thearrangement.This article puts forward some suggestions to the arrangingof textbooks. Finally, probe the Measure word teaching paradigm inteaching Chinese as a foreign language, based on errors in Acquiring ofMeasure word. Take three group of high-frequency Measure words as anexample to probe those Measure words’ teaching paradigm which in orderto provide some useful information and help for teaching Chinese asforeign language.
