Research On The Witchcraft Culture Of Miao Nationality

Witchcraft culture is one of human race’s oldest cultural phenomena. It is knownthat, in ancient times, witchcraft originally comes from human understanding of natureand then transforming its outcome. At that time, human social development level is verylow, as they face complex natural phenomena, they cannot know or ascertain what washappening, so in the meantime, they come to feel great awe of nature. Thus, theybelieve everything that happen in nature phenomena is dominated by each God, andalso believe that through some kind of symbol or simulated activities withpersonification of nature, they can communicate and also pray and hope for Gods’blessing.This paper is to research witchcraft culture of Miao. Due to the wide range of thewitchcraft culture, this research takes common phenomena of witchcraft culture as theobject of study. First, the introduction part, this chapter mainly introduces the researchscholars, their results and status which relating to witchcraft culture. Secondly, Miao isone of China long history nationality, its title is rather complex, so that this chaptermainly clarify various titles of Miao. The third part is to elaborate causes, changes anddemise of Miao’s witchcraft culture by analyzing political part, economic part, culturalpart, etc. The fourth part is to analyze common Miao witchcraft phenomenon, mainlydiscuss about spiritualism, poison and its Talisman and incantation. In the fifth partexpounds the effect of witchcraft, this chapter is to discuss about witchcraft rituals inorder to help tribal solidarity and consciousness sublimation, the production ofwitchcraft is easy for people to integrate their inner thoughts and strengths, in banningwitchcraft will draw disadvantages. The sixth part mainly expound the preservation andsalvation of witchcraft, and finally, make a summary of the paper.This paper studies Miao Nationality Culture, described the relationship between thesystem and the witch Hmong culture, the witch culture had produced a positive effect,but now facing extinction, this paper presents recommendations for rescue andprotection of Miao Nationality Culture. In this paper, literature research, induction anddeduction, interpretation of studies and other methods, and integration of mythology,history, cultural anthropology and other disciplines of knowledge.
