Business and professional services sector is an important part of themodern service industry. Benefited from the booming development of the world"service economy", business and professional services sector rises rapidly in thefield of international services trading. Business and professional services containindustries in a wide range, including accounting, legal services, market research,technical advisory, evaluating. It has the brightest future among industries. Theexperience of the developed countries and the course of the development inChina shows that business and professional services not only directly createeconomic value, but also do good to the process of economic restructuring andindustrial upgrading, and promote the coordinated development betweeneconomic and society. At present, in both developed and developing countries,business and professional services industry is one of the industries, which havepriority in development. Both the national macro-support and the localgovernment’s preferential policies show the importance of business andprofessional services. Besides, business and professional services sector plays anirreplaceable role in maintaining the order of market economic, achieving socialfairness and justice and so on.Considering the rapid development of business and professional services allover the world, many scholars have done researches on it. However, the scholarsusually do studies just on business services or professional services, but seldomdo research on “business and professional services”Industrial landscape is a carrier of human landscape, which is both affectedby macro-factors and micro-factors. Industrial landscape is one type of urbanlandscape. As urbanization acceding in the twentieth century, the industriallandscape and its role in urbanization is changing rapidly. This thesis doesempirical analysis based on the data related to the business and professionalservices, from the perspective of industrial landscape, to tell characteristics ofbusiness and professional services. Besides, this thesis also use methodsintroduced from Quantitative Geography to explain the formation mechanism of the industrial landscape of business and professional services.We hope that this thesis could point out a way to develop industriallandscape of Guangzhou in the future, by studying the industrial landscape ofbusiness and professional services in Tianhe district, Guangzhou. In summary,this thesis expand and the range of Economic Geography by studying theindustrial landscape of business and professional services in Tianhe district. Italso combine the knowledge of Landscape Ecology, Regional Economics,Economic Geography and Industrial Economics to do a research about businessand professional services both theoretically and empirically.
