With the deep development of global economy, economy has been being cultural, and culture has been being economic, which is the present major trend. Beside, in the information age and knowledge society of the moment, major products of the culture industry, including television, publishing, entertainment, news, movies, have been booming development. Therefore, Cultural industry has become a new industry and a new form of economic growth. By now, culture trade has been the important section to increase economy and also as a way to improve one country’s soft power. As a country with a long history, China must pay attention from the national strategic level and actively improve the international competitiveness of cultural products to enhance its cultural influence in worldwide.China and South Korea is neighbor, have the very similar cultural background. Recent years, Korea cultural trade has developed quickly. The famous song named "Gangnam style" broke lots of records in the world in2013, and attracted many young person to imitate the dance from the music video."South Korea trend" has been affected China and even the whole world, but China has a big deficit about it. This paper includes the basal knowledge of cultural trade in China, by contrast with Korea, analyze the weakness of our country’s cultural trade, and give the proposals which aims to the competitive strength to our country’s cultural products. I hope my paper will give practical ideas to our government and enterprise, and then increase the export amount of our cultural products.This paper includes four parts:The first chapter is introduction part, including the issue this thesis aims at, the purpose of writing, the current research situation, and the author’s viewpoint.Chapter two, the comparison of cultural trade between China and Korea, includes three sections. Section one compares the current development of the cultural trade between China and Korea, giving a whole horizon to this thesis. Section two analyzes the products structure of the cultural trade, aiming at books, video, audio, games, animation, audio and video media, in order to identify the gaps of cultural trade development of China. Section three summaries the policy of cultural trade between China and Korea.Chapter three includes two sections, in which the cultural trade competitive strength of China and Korea are deeply analyzed. Section one deeply analyzed the market share, trade competitiveness index, revealed comparative advantage index, which selects the UNCTAD database "personal, cultural and creative services" index as a unified standard, in order to compare the China’s cultural trade competitiveness with Korea. Section two deeply analyzed the reasons of weak competitive strength faced by China on cultural trade. It includes lacking of a correct understanding of culture, lacking of government’s policy support, lacking of core products and brands, lacking of mature marketing tools, and lack of outstanding professionals.Chapter four is the summary part of the thesis, which gives countermeasures and advices to reply the weak competitive strength just followed the chapter three. This part claims that we should establish a correct sense to cultural industries, strengthen the government’s macro regulation on cultural trade, improve the international competitiveness of cultural products, actively training and attract professional talents, and then promote China’s long-term sustainable development on culture trade.
