A Research Of Huanglongxi Fire Dragon Festival’s Visual Image Design

Huanglongxi is a famous town of Shuangliu. As the traditional Chinese folk festival, Huanglongxi Fire Dragon Festival with its distinctive geographical features and rich historical and cultural charm is the representative of folk festival in the southwest region of China. This thesis is based on the follow-up study of actual cases and is intended to explore and design a complete set of visual image system of Huanglongxi Fire Dragon Festival.This thesis proceeded from the design theory on visual image of Huanglongxi Fire Dragon Festival and then researched deeply into the cultural connotation of Huanglongxi Fire Dragon Festival. By analyzing the current visual image of Huanglongxi Fire Dragon Festival and its impact on local residents and tourists, the author carefully searched for and combed through the design element of Fire Dragon Festival. The author attempted to investigate and analyze the similar cases correspondingly in order to identify the position and find the innovative point. This thesis together with the graduate design enumerated the constituting element of Fire Dragon Festival’s visual image system and made a detailed discussion about the shaping and dissemination of its visual image. Hopefully the thesis could enlighten the visual image design of domestic traditional festival.The thesis is divided into five parts. Starting from the research background, research status, research significance and research objects, the thesis discussed the preparation, the overall shaping and dissemination of the visual image design of the Huanglongxi Fire Dragon Festival, including the reflection of the visual image design of the traditional Chinese festivals. By analyzing, demonstrating and researching the visual image design, the author believed that the visual image design made a significant contribution to the expression of cultural connotation in the festival. Only design can create a new situation in the personalization of overall image, in the internationalization of visual language, and in the pluralism of the media.
