On The Flexible Scale Of The Interpretation And Mental Adjustment In Operation

This interpretation practice report, based on the process of interpreting of The U.S. State of Union Address in2013, conducts a tentative exploration on the interpretation speech genre with the guidance of Gong Guangming’s theory of Science of translation thinking. Furthermore, the interpreter has made an introspection and comprehensive summary at the difficulties and confusion during the interpretation. According to the theory of Science of translation thinking, in the process of interpreting presentation of political genre, the interpreter should attach great importance on the viewpoint、standpoint、attitude and number expound of the targeted language. As long as the highlight, the full text can be clear, which will bring the convey to the point. On the basis of this paper, the interpreter conducts a preliminary study and analysis on using different interpreting methods aiming at how to grasp the main points during the process of interpretation and how to adopt different interpreting strategies in the different levels of narration. More analysis about flexible scale based on the difference of extent of the source language and the corresponding mental adjustment. Eventually, the interpreter represents a comprehensive analysis and summary of experience in interpretation practice and the remaining issues. Meanwhile, the author has talked about his own thoughts.
