Publicity texts are of significance as the window of China and the introduction of its culture, with China’s national power promoted, economic cooperation and foreign exchange has constantly been deepened. The translation of publicity texts, therefore, involves not only the transferring of technical words and expressions but that of the specific culture-laden information. Introducing of the Ningbo Hangzhou Bay New Zone is the very case, the thesis discussed the effective methods of applying translation strategies, and solved the following problems under the guidance of translation theories: translation of proper nouns with Chinese characteristics, Chinese abbreviations, sentences without subject, slogans, information of Chinese traditional culture, and the aesthetic save of picture descriptions. |
