A Report On The Translation Of Cold War Orientalism:Asia In The Middlebrow Imagination,1945-1961(Chapter4)

With the development of globalization, the knowledge structure is undergoing major changes. The internationalization trend of and research has been speeding up, and the academic exchange between the West and the East has obviously been enhanced. In that situation, the translation of China-West academic texts has become very important. The source text of the translation practice is the fourth Chapter of Cold War Orientalism: Asia in the Middlebrow Imagination,1945-1961which has no Chinese version. This practice report explores how to reproduce the meaning in the translation of academic texts at the lexical, syntactical and textual levels, and analyzes the translation skills of academic texts, in the hope that it is able to provide guidance for the translation of academic texts.
