The Layout Of Chinese Characters In Han Dynasty Tablets From The Jinguan Site In Jianshui County, Vol.1

In August,2011, Zhongxi Book Company(中西書局) published Han DynastyTablets from the Jinguan Site in Jianshui County,vol. I(《肩水金關漢簡（壹）》), and2351tablets have come to light. Although the study of these sources has been carriedout for more than thirty years, there is no monograph that investigates the layout oftheir Chinese characters so far. This creates the need for a comprehensive survey ofthe current research. The aim of this thesis is therefore to categorise these Chinesecharacters in the texts.This thesis will be divided into three parts: the first will provide an account of thescholarly traditions of Han Dynasty Tablets from the Jinguan Site in Jianshui County,vol. I(《肩水金關漢簡（壹）》). The second part will deal with the main researchquestion-the layout of Chinese characters in the texts, i.e. to crop the screenshots ofthe characters in the texts and categorise them into fourteen sections as perShuowen(《說文》). The third part will provide a detailed textual explanations on allextant sources.
