As the last part of the classroom, the layout and checking homework is veryimportant in teaching Chinese as a second language. By arranging homework,teachers can understand the basic knowledge and ability of students on learningChinese, get feedback information about teaching, examine teaching effectiveness,summarize the teaching experience, and improve teaching methods. It is one of theeffective means for teachers to urge students to consolidate the knowledge what theyhave learned, review and preview in time. Moreover, the effect of homework has animportant impact on students’ achievement and the level of Chinese.In actual teaching, teachers always take teaching as a whole process. Homeworkresearchers are mostly teachers in Primary and secondary schools. The scope ofresearch is limited in homework of primary and secondary education or universityeducation. The research on layout and checking homework is very less in teachingChinese as a second language. So, it is very necessary, significant and valuable for thedeep researching on layout and checking homework.According the homework research, I have surveyed and researched the layoutand checking of homework, and divided this article into three parts, the details are asfollows:In the first part, we firstly generalize the definition and types of homework, therole and function of homework, the inspection methods and significance of homework.Secondly, in order to get the current situation of homework, we designed two kinds ofquestionnaires for teachers and students. We get the current situation about homeworkby analyzing the questionnaire.In the second part, a lot of problems in layout and checking homework arerevealed, through the analysis of the current situation about homework.In the third part, the problems have been analyzed, and corresponding solutions for the problems are given.It is the purpose of this paper to explore the methods and strategies of layout andchecking homework, and the ways to increase the effectiveness of homework inteaching Chinese as a second language. I hope the research process and resultscan provide guidance for teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
