Chinese traditional autumn festivals, which contain abundant Chinese culture. Weregarded festivals only as cultural knowledge and introduced them to overseas students,which were short of innovative. Under the new situation, TCFL should give priority toenhance the level of students’ communicative. Review the grammar points in time,understand the personality characteristics and social characteristics of Chinese people,understand the relevant cultural knowledge need to be done to improve communicativecompetence. The paper regarded traditional autumn festivals as research object. Accordingto the logical order of find problems, understand problems, put forward the hypotheses, testthe hypotheses, guided by the Constructivism teaching theory, the Pedagogy of PerformingAnother Culture and the method in TCFL, such as situational method, reading method,communicative approach, the paper studied the autumn festivals, autumn festivals as TCFL,teaching materials about autumn festivals, teaching suggestions and prospects. Conductedcomprehensive culture teaching study integrated review the old knowledge expression,communication and holiday experience. At last, the paper provided some teaching ways inthe form of class teaching plans for practical teaching.
