With the continuous deepening of reform and opening up, and the increasingly frequency of global communication, tourism industry in China is developing rapidly. More and more foreign tourists are attracted by the magnificent scenery in China, giving rise to the need of guide interpreting. Thus, guide interpreters are facing more challenges. Guide interpreting affects not only interpreters themselves but also the image of their country. So this thesis endeavors to discuss the strategies of guide interpreting and the improvement of guide interpreting qualification. The thesis probes into this subject by analyzing specific examples on the basis of the theory. The theory of the thesis comes from eco-translatology. The Hulunbuir Glassland guide interpreting text is analyzed under the theoretical framework of the multi-dimensional adaptations at various levels. Thus guide interpreting strategies are discussed. By analyzing the text of guide interpreting, the thesis aims to show that it is necessary to adopt certain interpreting skills to better improve guide interpreting and better meet the need of intercultural communication. Strategies of adaptive selections and transformations under the multi-dimensional adaptations, namely linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions, are discussed. At last, with the demonstration of the theory and practical examples, the thesis points out that the interpreting strategies are effective and it is necessary to apply them to the practice of guide interpreting.
