After the twentieth century, due to the dramatic changes in Western foreign cultural influences and social studies art history in China, there have been different with the previous situation, with the corresponding art history education has gradually developed. But with respect to the teaching of Western art history, Chinese art history in college education by most people as the assistant creative arts education tool, rather than as an art history to understand the humanities. So universities of education in art history and often do not get the appropriate attention.In recent years, with the entrance of the boom as well as the art of fine arts college enrollment, professional art history associated with this gradually by the people’s attention. In an era of rapid development of such a society, art history undergraduate arts education institutions, there have been many changes and problems. How to improve the importance of this change in the teaching of art history in art education, art history, teaching courses on how to optimize and enhance the professional standards of teachers, changing attitudes toward art history student teaching, stimulate their interest in art history, the history of art education and social practice and so on, are our current needs to explore and think about.In most colleges and universities, art history is just a basic theory course, people for such a theory of course is also not very seriously. This situation for the construction disciplines of art history is very unfavorable. No matter what the subject is a combination of theory and practice are inseparable, and therefore the creation of art history and art are also inseparable. In this practical emphasis on the theory of art education art education environment, although students of aesthetics and techniques and other aspects have been improved, but you want to teaching academic art history, such as level of education is far from adequate.Meanwhile, with the improvement of living standards of society, people’s spiritual and cultural needs are increasing. Where the rapid development of the art market, the demand for relevant professionals is also increasing, especially with the history of art related professional personnel. The current creative artwork showing a saturation trend, the number of these people are faced with numerous, complex themes of art, art theory, if there is no corresponding knowledge, you can not screen out their pros and cons, these works will not be able to taste to express the emotions. Thus, culture and art history related professional personnel, for the construction of the contemporary spiritual and cultural environment is very necessary.Currently art education in colleges and universities teaching art history course, there are many defects, how to enhance the professionalism of teachers, improve students’self-learning, improve art history courses, in order to cultivate the creative talents with the overall quality of art, is the urgent need to solve our current problems. This review focuses on teaching and teaching methods to optimize domestic colleges and universities in art history courses be explored.
