Study On The Resource Integration Function Of Non-profit Organization In Community Service

With the social transformation and the development of non-profit organization,non-profit organization plays an important role in meeting the appeal of civil rights,dealing the urgent cases, pushing forward the development of public welfare. Thefunction of non-profit organization participating in social affairs has been increasinglyhighlighted, resource integration is an essential function that non-profit organizationcan use social resources effectively to promote social development. As a serviceprovider, non-profit organization can integrate resource insied and outside thecommunity, make the value of resources been fully realized. The research on theresource integration function of non-profit organization in community service,therefore, is significant both in theory and practice.The paper chooses the Shanghai Lequn Social Work Service which is arepresentative of Chinese non-profit organization as the object of study. Using theresource integration function of SLSWS as the entry point, together with investigation,theoretical analysis and institutional analysis, the author analyzed the mechanism,approach and restrictions of resource integration within the community service ofnon-profit organization. The paper discovered that a non-profit organization with aclear position on establihment and strategic operation can realize the effective supply of community service. Non-profit organization can also exploit and integrate socialresource through capacity building and construction of social network resource.Besides, according to the comparative analysis of resource allocation style thatadopted by different provider in community service, the resource combination andallocation method thatthe non-profit organization use to meet the demand ofcommunity service is not possessed by other providers.As the community service provider, at present, non-profit organization do not playa role in resource integration fully. Because of the non-profit organizationmanagement system that the government take, the space for non-profit organization isvery small. To promote the effective supply of community service by non-profitorganization, therefore, the government has to provide policy support, the NPO itselfmust improve strategic planning and cooperation with other organizations.
