A Research About The Rural Disabled Elderly Care Issues

Under the social background of the rapid rural aging, the expanded scale of disabled elderly and the weakening family pension functions, there are many difficulties in the care of the disabled elderly. In order to explore these problems and its reasons, I carried out a field research taking the Y village of N province for example, aiming to obtain the first-hand data about the disabled elderly care in Y village of N province through field surveys and interview. The research have shown that the main problems of disabled elderly care in Y village of N province were the shortage of care resources, the non-diversified care content and the single care mode. The emergence of these problems was the result of the interaction of a variety of factors of economy, culture and society. In order to solve these problems, the key is to build diverse care system about rural disabled elderly care. This diverse care system should include the multiple caregivers such as family, government, community and society. On the basis of continuing exerting the leading role of the family care, we should develop rural community-based care mode. At the same time, the government should be doing its duty in the rural disabled elderly care, and actively guiding social forces which added to the ranks of the rural disabled elderly care.
