On Space Of The Method Of Social Work In Caring The Orphans And Disabled Children In Northwest Minority’s No-governmental Welfare Organization

The implementation of the12th Five-year Plan makes the livelihood issues asone of the government’s problems that can not be neglected. With the change of thesociety and the development of the modernization’s process, the society andgovernment pay more and more attention to the vulnerable group’s survival anddevelopment rights, this group’s existence influences the realization of the socialjustice and the construction of the harmonious society. In our country, due to theinfluence of the history, area, the traditional culture and more the other reasons, theeconomic development of the western region is relatively backward, and thenorthwest minority people is on relatively vulnerable position, and their childrenbecome the special group of the vulnerable groups. X Community is an area thefloating population of the national minorities gathering on the edge of Lanzhou City,the destabilizing factors such as poor sanitary conditions and bad public securitythreaten their survival, and their children lack considerations, or being ignored, orbeing abandoned. So some non-governmental welfare organizations are born, takingcare of them instead of the government and the family.These welfare organizations give the children warm homes, and offer therelatively suitable living environment, but some problems still exist because of theirspecial national identities and the technical constraints. Introducing the social work tothe organizations can offer new ways and thinking in the succour and protection of theorphans and disabled children.This article takes Organization R as studying subject, through the investigationof the institutions, workers, the orphans and disabled children and the volunteers,knowing the present situation and organizations’ caring status of the orphans anddisabled children in the minority nationality regions, analyzing the reasons of theseproblems occur, hoping that with the help of the social work’s concept “PeopleOriented and Helping People to Help Themselves” and using the professionalapproach of individual case and group, satisfying the orphans and disabled children’sspecial psychological and physiological and the other more needs, remedying thedefects and shortcomings in welfare organizations’ work, furthering to improve the saving and protecting eork of the orphans and disabled children, searching for thecaring methods of social work which fits the non-governmental welfare organization.
