| The regional autonomy of ethnic minorities is a fundamental policy of resolving ethnic issues in China. As a nation of laws, the ethnic policy should be carried out in the management of ethnic minorities and it is essential to stipulate the national administration in frame of laws throughout legalization. National identity is seen as a kind of national consciousness and a vital bond of survival and development for one country. Virtually, national identity is something that one nation ascribes itself to a country for recognition of its identity of nation and ethnic groups and forms a major consciousness in help of protection of national sovereignty and national interest. Legalization of regional autonomy of ethnic minorities is a process of enhancing national identity of ethnic minorities, protecting and promoting national tradition, culture and national integration as well as developing ethnic minorities’ civil rights of politics, economy and culture and improving their capability of living and competing from the angle of laws. Only penetrating the reality of realization of ethnic minorities’ rights and focusing much on the perception of ethnic minorities from spiritual perspective can methods be fundamentally found in resolution of national issues. The improvement of idea of citizen among ethnic minorities and the establishment of national consciousness and awareness of general situation can spiritually guarantee integration of ethnic minorities at home. It is not only beneficial to the protection and realization of ethnic minorities’ rights but also served as a milestone for long-lasting peace and stability. The core issue about spirit of ethnic minorities lies in the formation and promotion of their national identity.This essay aims to explore the relationship between legalization and national identity of ethnic minorities, in addition to find out legal ways to enhance their national identity through the analysis of legislative reality of regional autonomy of ethnic minorities. |
