As an important part in our daily life, automobile is required to be tested on its adaptability to various environment before entering the market. In order to improve the accessibility and lower the cost of the test, it is necessary to build a vehicle environmental simulation test system (VESTS), which can assist researching, designing, developing new products and the like. Based on the Siemens Totally Integrated Automation(TIA) technology, a multilevel network control system is designed for a specific VESTS in this dissertation.This system is consisted of process water subsystem, vehicle environmental simulation chamber subsystem and some other subsystems. With these subsystems, both the vehicle and its essential componenets can be tested. Firstly, the overall control scheme is determined according to the user’s requirements on different subsystems. Secondly, both the hardware and software are designed for the master controller, PLC. Thirdly, the fuzzy control algorithm and adaptive fuzzy control algorithm are introduced into this system to deal with the nonlineration, hysteresis and uncertainty. With the advantage of these algorithms, the performance of the system is improved. Finally, a remote moniting subsystem and a field moniting subsystem are implemented respectively based on WinCC and WinCC Flexible. Several engineering problems are also discussed according to the test results.With combining the advanced automation technology and the advanced control algorithms, this system has not only been supermatic, but also achieved excellent control performance. Till now, this system has been running well and reliably for nearly one year.
