| Object The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of He acupoints compatibility, Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility and He-Mu-Shu acupoints compatibility for functional diarrhea,and choose the best compatibility method.Methods The design of this study was randomized controlled prospective clinical trial.105cases of functional diarrhea conforming to the criteria of this study were randomly divided into four groups, they are He acupoints compatibility group(31cases), Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group(22cases),He-Mu-Shu acupoints compatibility group(27cases) and Western medicine treatment group(25cases).In the treatment period, three acupuncture groups all take electric acupuncture,once a day,30minutes each time, the first two weeks5times per week, the following two weeks3times a week. Western medicine treatment group were treated with Western medicine Loperamide Hydrochloride Capsules,2mg each time,3times a day, half an hour before meal of oral, for4weeks treatment. Observation was conducted weekly defecation times, excrement character, and evaluation of health related quality of life and psychological evaluation.Results This study included105patients,2cases shedding, one of them was in Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group, the other one in the He-Mu-Shu acupoints compatibility group, finally103cases were involved in the analysis.Main outcome measures: Weekly defecation times:After4weeks treatment, except Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group (P>0.05),there was a significantly decrease of defecation times in the other three groups (P<0.05). The decrease of defecation times in He acupoints compatibility group were6.06±4.83times (95%CI:4.29～7.84, P=0.000), the decrease of defecation times in Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group were5.76±5.14times (95%CI:3.42～8.10, P=0.022), the decrease of defecation times in He-Mu-Shu acupoints compatibility group were1(6.5) times (95%CI:0.66～4.11, P=0.281), the decrease of defecation times in Western medicine treatment group were3(5.5) times (95%CI:1.83～5.5, P=0.0063).Comparison between the four groups, He acupoints compatibility group and Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group was superior to He-Mu-Shu acupoints compatibility group(P<0.05), He acupoints compatibility group was superior to Western medicine treatment group(P<0.05). There was no significant difference between He acupoints compatibility group and Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group (P>0.05). The decrease defecation times effect of He acupoints compatibility group and Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group was good.The secondary outcome measures:Weekly defecation times:After4weeks follow up,except Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group (P>0.05),there was a significantly decrease of defecation times in the other three groups (P<0.05).The decrease of defecation times in He acupoints compatibility group were7(7) times (95%CI:4.81～9.06, P=0.000), the decrease of defecation times in Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group were7.00±6.39times (95%CI:4.09～9.91, P=0.002), the decrease of defecation times in He-Mu-Shu acupoints compatibility group were1.5(6) times (95%CI:1.90～5.02, P=0.105), the decrease of defecation times in Western medicine treatment group were2(5.5) times (95%CI:0.85～5.31, P=0.017).Comparison between the four groups, He acupoints compatibility group and Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group was superior to He-Mu-Shu acupoints compatibility group and Western medicine treatment group (P<0.05), He acupoints compatibility group was superior to Western medicine treatment group(P<0.05). There was no significant difference between He acupoints compatibility group and Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group (P>0.05).The decrease defecation times effect of He acupoints compatibility group and Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group was good, the curative effect can last4weeks. Excrement character:After4weeks treatment,four groups excrement character were significantly improved (P<0.01). Comparison between the four groups,there was no significant difference between the four groups (P>0.05).After4weeks follow up, four groups excrement character were significantly improved (P<0.05).The curative effect of He acupoints compatibility group was superior to He-Mu-Shu acupoints compatibility group and Western medicine treatment group(P<0.05) The curative effect of He acupoints compatibility group and Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group was good, and the effect can last4weeks.SF-36:After4weeks treatment,the improvement of quality of life was not obvious for the four groups.SAS:After4weeks treatment, Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group and Western medicine treatment group can reduce anxiety symptoms,but the other two groups were not obvious. SDS:After4weeks treatment,the improvement of depressive symptoms was not obvious for the four groups(P>0.05).Conclusions(1) After4weeks treatment,He acupoints compatibility group and Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group can effectively reduce the weekly defecation times, curative effect can last4weeks; He acupoints compatibility group in the short-term curative effect is better than positive medicine Loperamide Hydrochloride, He acupoints compatibility group and Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group were superior to He-Mu-Shu acupoints compatibility group.(2) He acupoints compatibility group and Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility group improve excrement character effect is better;(3) He acupoints compatibility and Shu-Mu acupoints compatibility were efficacy methods of compatibility of points for the treatment of functional diarrhea, the two electroacupuncture groups is effective, the curative effect can last4weeks after treatment, safety and satisfactory clinical value.Trials registration: Clinical Trials.gov NCT014411501... |
