<Wen Xuan> is the earliest Collection of literature that has been compiled and exists inour country, it includes more than700works from Zhou Dynasty to Six Dynasties of800years. And it almost possesses the main representative works of all kinds of style. The EarlyTang remnant paper of<Wen Xuan> came up in Turpan area, and it is important both to thestudy of<Wen Xuan> itself and the investigation of the spreading of Han culture in thewestern region through it. First, its meaning lies in comparing with <Wen Xuan> to collatesome ambiguities of derivatives. Second, it retains commonly used and borrowinginformation to study intensively, and it can provide evidence to the study of medievalChinese so as to contribute to the study of history of Chinese language. Finally, it can be usedto comprehend the whole cultural environment of northwest especially the Turpan areathrough its remnant paper. After the coming up of Turpan remnant paper of <Wen Xuan>,the study of it also becomes further, but it is not enough in terms of the investigation of thewhole culture environment of Turpan area. The main body of the article is divided into threeparts. The first part is the introduction, and it makes a brief outline of the development ofTurpan and <Wen Xuan> literature, and states the stage of its development. In the meantime,it”crawls” the basic line of its development and the important works and representativescholars, and it briefly analyses the historical background, cultural preparation theorypreparation and mental preparation on how <WenXuan> came up. The second part is dividedinto two parts. The first”crawls” the spread of it, which is based on to collate the Turpan<WenXuan> remnant paper beyond power on the basis of predecessors. This part is based onthe Early Tang remnant paper of Turpan <Wen Xuan>, referring to<Wen Xuan> of Hu Mingedition of commentaries and Liu Chen Zhu<Wen Xuan> combining other classics to collateso as to get some conclusions. The third part is based on the collation of Turpan <WenXuan>, combining the research result of predecessors, referring especially the research resultof <Wen Xuan> coming up in Dunhuang which has almost the same culture, economy, andpolitics, combining the politics, economy, transportation,culture, and religion and so on inthat time of Turpan to deduce the influence on Turpan area especially its interactiverelationship with Buddhism and local education, imperial examinations at that time ofcontext of <Wen Xuan>.
