Looking at nearly a decade of research results, there has been a lot of ontological research on rhetorical sentences. There have been dozens of studies where there have only been minor differences between each about the phrase,"nandao". Despite this, the production and ability to combine teaching Chinese as a foreign language and to figure out the specific problem and research timely solutions in foreign language teaching materials is still pending. The multifaceted rhetorical question "nandao" sentence structure has always been a difficult term to teach and to learn. For a long time, research on the phrase "nandao" only emphasizes its rhetorical significance. This is until the advent of "Wen Yan Xu Ci", Mr. Lu Shuxiang, proposed that "nandao" has two meanings, not only does it have a rhetorical association but also a speculated association, not until figuring out these two meanings will the long-term error have the ability to be corrected. However, I found that Mr. Lu’s later textbooks and supplementary preparations for classroom teaching did not show concern with this correction. This article was started from the ontological research of rhetorical sentences and the research of the "nandao" phrase. A survey of student work and classroom teaching was conducted, in addition, a variety of foreign language teaching materials were analyzed, and a survey questionnaire was also administered. The results from the analysis show that whether in the classroom or in the compilation of teaching materials, the phrase "nandao" should attract a sufficient amount of attention.
