Research purpose of this paper is to solve problems in application of body language teaching in primary class of teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The author surveys mainly by issuing questionnaires to overseas students in China combined with classroom teaching observation, teaching video recording, interview for teachers and students and other methods, collects, sorts and analyzes materials and data, and reaches the following conclusions:appropriate and decent application of body language has great influence on classes and learning effects of overseas students, and body language teaching is an important way to help primary class overseas students understand and grasp Chinese knowledge. Meanwhile, problems are also discovered:teachers’ability to use body language teaching remains to be enhanced. For problems reflected in survey, the author begins with three parts namely "body language in teaching","body language in demonstration of teaching content" and "cultural differences in body language", and proposes practical solutions with the objective of improving teaching quality. Hopefully, this paper could provide some help for application of body language teaching in primary class of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
