This thesis consists of five parts:introduction, chapter one, chapter two, the third chapter and conclusion. The first chapter discusses the reasons of the Left Prison novels in the thirties in China. During that time, the social was unstable. Prison events and prison phenomenon happened frequently, and formed a dark situation called "Prison" in our country. Such social environment stimulated the leftist writers’ desire to create a series of fictions about the prison events. Another motivation to create these novels was the coincidence between the disciplinary to the Left-wing writers by League of Left-Wing Writers and rational political demands of themselves. The second chapter aims to analyze the spatial image about "Prison" in the prison events fictions. Showed and exposed the hell temperament in the prison has become entry point by multitudinous left prison fictions narrative. Meanwhile, exposing and criticizing consciousness are the basic postures of the novel narration. Prison literary imagination, led to the miniature of the whole social circumstances. Through "panoramic" scanning of the hell disposition about prisons inside and outside, the left-wing writers draw the outline of the cruel scenes and deformity outer contours of the whole society. Finally they completed the "hell" literary imagination in China, and then questioned and denied the legitimacy of the social orders and rules. Prison space theme occupied the structural core status in the novel in the thirties at that time. The prison space created by the literary imagination includes the shaping effects of class and ethnic consciousness. Once it was successful in prison space image. Conversely it could be the reproduction room of classes and national consciousness. Colonial prison image, besides having distinctive political and ideological appeals, also reflected the profound reflections of the left-wing writers on the modern western civilization. The revolutionaries in the prison with the prison space form a strange relationship, on the one hand, the revolutionaries in prison are disciplined by a series of the will to power and power technology, and then prison space embodied in "counter-revolutionary" space to suppress the revolutionaries and the revolutionary activities; on the other hand, with the help of revolutionary narrative discourse, the revolutionaries successful transform prison space into his spiritual space, convert the encounter of imprisoned for achievement own opportunity and realized the revolutionary ideology to occupy jail space and eventually turn them into propaganda the knowledge system of the revolution."Window of prisoners" as the only channel connection with the outside world has special significance for the prisoners, because it is observation largely becoming a prisoner "station" in the heart of the world. The third chapter, I will analyze the left prison portraits of the characters in the fictions from the perspective of the body description. When Left-wing writer create literary they often think about the fate of class and nation that makes the body writing often difficult to overstep class, ethnic and other revolutionary discourse control, so the shape of the characters and the left pursuit of political ideology have close relationship. Under the class and national appeal, the prison deliberately defacing the ruler image and finalize the design, is actually a left-wing writers reasonableness and legality denying class oppression and the root of the colonial rule. The body of women prisoners, foreign prisoners and farmers the prisoner’s in the dungeon has the rich metaphorical meaning that show distinct class and national consciousness. The jail space is Left-wing writers writing background. Through disease, torture and death narrative, the Left-wing writers shape out the revolutionary body as a kind of class, ethnic, and rational body that manifests the revolutionary ethics to shield the individual ethics, the value of class, ethnic and historical which has a strong political enlightenment color. In the conclusion part briefly reviewed the significance of the history of literature and the artistic limitation about1930s prison novels.
