The thesis first gives anoverview of tour guide interpreting and its traits. Then, it defines sinicized English byclassifying expressions and statements of it, thereby revealing its worldwide impact.Further, six possible interpreting strategies (namely Transliteration Strategy, LiteralInterpreting Strategy, Transliteration and Literal Interpreting Strategy, ParaphraseStrategy, Omission Strategy and Mixed Interpreting Strategy) are summarizedincorporating the writer’s personal tour guiding experience. The pros and cons of eachstrategy are analyzed on the basis of a multitude of in-depth original cases. It is theauthor’s intention that the research into this subject would not only help instill newvitality into inbound Chinese-English guide interpreting, but contribute to popularizingthe culture and civilization of the Chinese nation.
