With the development of China’s economy and the rising of its international status,China has become one of the world’s tourist destinations. Guide interpreting is playinga more and more important role in culture communication. This paper is intended to scientifically apply the interpreting tactics“domestication” and “foreignization” to guide interpreting. In introducing the traditionalChinese culture, tour guides should balance the use of “domestication” and“foreignization”. For the “rich culture” translation, we should use “domestication” tomake the foreign visitors get a basic and general idea. If necessary, we can use the“foreignization” methods by using “Chinese pinyin”, to make foreign visitors get a realand deep understanding of Chinese traditional culture. With these tactics, tour guidescan comprehensively and flexibly deal with the problems in order to let the foreignersunderstand better about China’s traditions and enhance the understanding of China allover the world.
