Modern technology has affected all aspects of human life and caused numerous thinkers and philosophers to think about it. With the all-round development of human beings, Marx studied the technology and discussed the problem of alienation of labor and put forward the goal and ways of realization of man’s all-round development under the guidance of dialectical materialism. While Heidegger conducted his study by using the phenomenological method, he investigated the ge-stell by questioning the fate of the "existence" and put forward the poetic habitation. Though they differed in standpoint, starting point and methodologies, their thoughts are mentioned in a common direction, that is, to explore and research how to deal with all kinds of influences of technology to the human world, and finally realize the free and comprehensive development of human beings.The thesis is divided into the following sections. The prolegomena is an introduction which Reviews domestic and foreign research present situation and selected topic basis and the relationship between technology, modern science and metaphysics The first chapter is the Marxist view of technology. In this chapter, the author introduces the essence of Marx’s thoughts of technology and understanding of the technical role. The second chapter is Heidegger’s view of technology, which introduces the questions Heidegger presented towards the technology and the essence of technology. The third chapter is the comparison between Marx and Heidegger’s thoughts on technology; this chapter is divided into three parts. The first parts introduce their methodology basis; then it presents the alienation of labor and ge-stell, which is also their understanding about the kernel technology. The last part compares human beings save methods under the control of the technology. After the comprehensive discussion about Marx and Heidegger’s thought of technology, this paper fatherly shows how to eliminate the negative similarities between these two technical ideas and presents human beings enlightenments for better survival and development.
