Women’s participation in politics means a political behavior of women participating in national political life and the management of public affairs。It consists of two interrelated aspects:power participation and democratic participation of women. Power participation means that women are involved into each field of national levels of government; they directly take part in decision making and management of national politics, economy, culture, etc. It includes the number, structure and quality of women’s political participation. Democratic participation of women means that woman is subject provided by law that exercises their democratic election, focus on the social and public affairs, influence public policy suggestions and so on. From the point of view of human society evolution tendency, women’s participation in politics is one of the main aims pursued by modern women’s liberation movement. It is an inevitable outcome and reflection of improving women’s status which is getting marital autonomy and financial independence.During the last two decades the women community in politics has tremendously increased, which is a remarkable phenomenon in the world. Scandinavian region has the highest level of women’s participation in politics. Those women have a good history and consciousness of political participation. However, this is not typical for Russian Federation. This paper analyzes the development process and the status of women’s right to political participation in Russia and China, researches the existing problems of women’s right to political participation and their protection by legal system in two countries, also makes a detailed comparison of women’s right to participate in politics of these two countries.The thesis consists of four chapters. The first chapter is argumentation part that analyzes the concepts and theory related to women’s right to political participation. In the second chapter, respectively, the development process of women’s right to political participation in China and Russia is analyzed. It also gives a comparative analysis of the similarities and differences in both countries. The third chapter analyzes existing problems in political participation right of women in China and Russia, researches reasons of those problems and makes a comparison of them. The fourth chapter analyzes the problem of legal protection of women’s right to political participation in Russia and China, its practice and proposes promotion of further development of countermeasures and suggestions of Russian-Chinese women’s political participation right. The concluding section of the paper contains article summary and conclusion.
