Study On The Relationship Between Urban Poverty And The Level Of Social Security

Along with the accelerating urbanization process, urban population has increaseddramatically, the marketization and internationalization trend, growing environment of thefierce competition between countries, regions, industry and residents’ living standardgradually widening gap between the rich and the poor. Through the national incomeredistribution policy, social security protects vulnerable groups, safeguard the people’sfundamental interests, In order to avoid the gap between rich and poor is too wide andcause social differentiation. The level of social security directly affects the life of urbanpoverty groups.This paper discusses the change of relationship between the level of social securityand urban poverty, On the basis of collecting a large number of relevant literature and data,by adopting the combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods, Using theSPSS statistical software and EXCEL software to process the data by factor analysis andregression analysis. The main contents are as follows:From theory research, this paper expounds the domestic and foreign scholars’research about concept and related theory analysis of urban poverty and the level of socialsecurity, further analysis the effect of the level of social security to urban poverty, it affectthe urban poor residents demand for fairness, influences their quality of life. The articlestudies the present situation of urban poverty in our country from the scale of the urbanpoor, composition and distribution; calculate the number relative poverty and absolutepoverty in our country; expounds the reasons of urban poverty in our country from themacro and micro aspect. The macro aspects include social injustice caused by theeconomic system reform; not equalization of social interest distribution pattern; imperfect of the social security system. The microcosmic aspects include the lack of physical capital,human capital and social capital.From quantitative research, this article constructs the index system of the urban socialsecurity level and the index system of urban poverty. The index system of social securityincludes social security coverage, the level of social security and the social securitydevelopment. The article selects16indicators to build index system of urban poverty fromthe influence on the urban poor residents. Collecting related data of31provinces and citiesthroughout the country to evaluate the various indicators by using SPSS, and it finallyconcludes that31regions of the social security level and the urban poor score. Furtherregression analysis was carried out on comprehensive score of the level of social securityand the urban poverty. Come to the conclusion, when the level of social security increase aunit, urban poverty can be reduced to a corresponding0.319. Per capita spending on socialsecurity, the rate of social security level, the proportion of accounts for the minimum wageis mean monthly salary are negative correlation, unemployment insurance coverage withthe urban poverty, Influence degree respectively are1.27%、2%、1%、4%.According to the results of the analysis is proposed to reduce the prospect ofChina’s city poverty. That is to increase the per capita expenditure for social security, raisethe minimum wage level, the increase of unemployment insurance coverage.
