Marx’s Thought Ofecological Ethics And Its Realistic Enlightenment

The eighteenth National Congress of the Communist Party of China report statedthat the construction of ecological civilization is a long-term strategy pertaining to thewell-being of the people as well as the future of the nation. Facing the tough situationsof tight resource constraints, environmental pollution and ecosystem degradation, it is anecessity to hold the idea of ecological civilization, having respect for the nature,complying with the nature and protecting the nature. It is necessary to put ecologicalcivilization in high priority and combine it with economic, political, cultural and socialconstructions. Only in this way, can we build a beautiful country and achieve thesustainable development of the nation. This is the second time that ecologicalcivilization has been pointed out in the National Congress of the Communist Party ofChina report since its debut on the17thCongress. And this time, ecological civilizationis raised to a higher level of national strategy. This proposal brings us back to Marx,prompts humans to re-evaluate the relation with the nature and to seek the philosophicalfoundation for resolving the ecological problem. In this circumstance, what is the realrelationship between human being and the nature? What is the root cause of the severeenvironmental issue at the moment? How can Marxism ecological ethics enlightenpeople to address the ecological problems of the nation and the whole world? Thepaper aims at providing some ideas on how to address the ecological problems byresearching ontheMarxismecological ethics.The thesis analyzes the Marxism ecological ethics and its practical significance onthree aspects. Said from the narrow sense, Marxist ecological ethics thought is refers tothe established by Marx and Engels, the dialectical unity relationship between humanand nature as the core of about the basic theory and basic idea of ecological ethicsthought system. Broadly speaking, the ecological ethics thought of Marxism is not onlyrefers to the theory of ecological ethics thought of Marx and Engels founded, alsoincluding the successor to the development of it, namely the practice in the developmentof the Marxist ecological ethics thought. Part1focuses on the concepts of “human”,“nature” and “practice” mentioned in Marxism ecological ethics and the ecologicalethics opinions classical and modern, Chinese and foreign. Part2studies the ecologicalethics views of Marx, Engels and its successors Lenin, Premier Mao, Deng, Hu and Xi to grasp the venation of Marxism ecological ethics theoretically, laying the foundationfor learning and changing the nature. Part3elaborates on the realistic enlightenments ofMarxism ecological ethics to the construction of ecological civilization in China inrespect of recognition, economy and social system. Marxist ecological ethics thoughtthat people are come from the nature, the product of the long-term evolution in nature.People who have the natural attribute, and the nature is the premise for the human tosurvival and development. At the same time, it emphasizes the relationship betweenhuman and nature is the unity of the initiative and the dynamic. Marxist ecologicalethics emphasizes the natural environment plays an important role in the human society.We should re-examine the relationship between human and nature, set up the correctecological ethics thought, in order to create the harmonious development of the man andthe nature. The main leaders of our county are inherited and developed the Marxistecological ethics thought, put forward the thought of beautification environment, walkthe road of sustainable development and the construction of socialism ecologicalcivilization view, etc. Marxism ecological ethics indicates the way of solving theecological problems of the nature and even of the world. It requires human beings todeal with the relation with the nature in a good manner and to give a play to people’ssubjective initiative reasonably and on the basis of respecting the law of the nature.Marxism ecological ethics provides theoretical basis and reveals realistic possibilities ofChina’s construction of harmonious socialist society. Marxism ecological ethics shouldbe studied and adopted to give guidance to China’s construction of ecologicalcivilization. In other words, the construction of ecological civilization should be in linewithMarxismecological ethics.
