Graduate student education is the highest level in higher education structure. It is its obligatory responsibility to train and send more high-level innovative talents for national construction and national development. In2003, the ministry of education initiated a graduate student education innovation project to deepen the reform of the graduate student education, and constantly improve graduate student research ability. Therefore, the graduate student research ability has become the most important graduate education training target and it is the core and key of graduate student education quality. But the graduate student’s scientific research ability can’t rely on subjective judgment and must reflect by the objective scientific research achievements. Therefore, in order to understand and improve graduate student research ability and training quality, exploring the present situation and affecting factors of graduate students’scientific research achievements will be a key research point. In the study, the quantitative research methods discusses the influence factors of the graduate student research achievement, starts from "a survey of graduate student research project in China " questionnaire to carry on project analysis, reliability and validity analysis, factor analysis, and then the basic descriptive statistics analysis to graduate student research achievements, difference statistical analysis to scientific research achievements of different backgrounds graduate students, next the correlation analysis to influence factors of graduate students scientific research achievements, finally the multiple regression analysis to the relationship between the factors and scientific research achievements. The conclusions of this paper are as follows:First, the overall situation of China’s graduate students’scientific research achievements is not very ideal, and most graduate students at present do not have any scientific research achievement. Second, degree, grade, endeavor, research interest, mentor subject, sex, marital status, and master major, college level, place of birth, and system environment have significant influence to postgraduate research. Third, the key factors rank in order of importance is degree, grade, endeavor, research interest, mentor subject, sex, marital status, and master major, college level, place of birth, and system environment. Fourth, for the total amount of graduate scientific research achievements, the higher degree the more, the higher grade the more, participating in the subject the more, males more than females, the married more than unmarried, natural sciences more than humanities and social sciences, born in urban more than rural, the better system environment the more, more their own efforts the more, the higher research interest the more.Based on the conclusion, put forward the following several policy suggestions:First, the graduate student should begin to cultivate research interests actively from the junior, and make more efforts. They should choose the advisors according to their ability and interest, and participate actively in advisors’subject in order for the accumulation of experience and the improvement of the independent study ability. Second, the advisors should give positive guidance to graduate student research activities, and provide the opportunity to fully participate in subject. As far as possible, they should provide material support to graduate research activities. Third, the universities should establish a good system environment, ensure the fairness of the system, at the same time should not ignore the cultivation and support to the female graduate students’ and masters’scientific research ability.
