Curriculum reform is in full swing, but the reform of homework can not be ignored. The reporters found that the number high school students who need more than three hours to complete daily operations is accounted for12.48%,15.35%of the students spend two hours a day to complete the job. Many schoolbag weighing10pounds, many primary and secondary school students sleep less than seven hours. The schoolbags increasingly heavy, glasses thicker and thicker becoming and sleep time shorter and shorter, physical fitness is getting worse, which are true portrayal of the current primary and secondary school students in China. The opinion that study math should do more exercise, the first pursuit of quantity, and then hope that the qualitative changes caused by quantitative is wrong. This view is so bad that makes the exercises lack the proper interpretation, excavation and re-creation, and that makes exercises weakening. This adds to the students’ burden, less effective.Well, what role math homework plays in mathematics teaching. In order to understand the status quo, this study made two questionnaires, a teacher questionnaire and a student questionnaire. The results show that math homework is still excessive, a considerable portion of students’ level of awareness of the importance of job is not enough, and students’ work habits is poor, and on the problem discouraged but to turn to others. Teachers arrange homework in order to consolidate knowledge and to improve the learning ability. Operating mainly from the materials, basic training, and counseling information. Work is basically the tiered assignments. The way of correct is the combination of various forms. Teachers can maintain a rational in handling of student work and give help according to the actual problems. In addition, I studied the collection of junior high school sophomore students’ work, made qualitative and quantitative analysis multi-faceted from combined cognitive psychology. And analyze the knowledge from declarative knowledge, intellectual skills, and cognitive strategies. Studies of former Soviet Union Mashenbici have shown that before the formation of the solution of a typical computing, different students needs exercises ranging from1to22times, no matter in what subjects. That means20exercises similar to grasp a knowledge-point. If less than this amount, it difficult for students to master it. If more than, that will increase the burden on students. Statistics found that a lot of knowledge points of the sample are excessive practice. Questions statistical analysis found that: homework to choice, mostly fill in the blank, is not conducive to expose students’ thinking process. The new types of exercises appeared, such as:New definition of the question, background questions, open questions, conjectures, proofs. But the proportion of them is too little. In order to cultivate the students’ cognitive strategies, procedural knowledge choice, fill in the blank should be reducing, and increase the proportion of new kinds of questions. Existing studies have shown that the amount of work and learning is not a positive correlation, but high school students who do regular jobs will get better score than those who do less homework. However, excessive exercise will give students a burden. Therefore, an appropriate amount of jobs is very important. Of course, the quality of job should be excellent at the same time. Research gives some suggestions on the quality and quantity of jobs. Quality: Operations should be focused on difficult, error-prone points; to reduce the old kinds of questions, to add new kinds of questions; preferred exercises to improve utilization. Number:operating balanced layout; subjects’co-ordination; curricular autonomic regulation; meet the learning cycle; improve classroom efficiency.
