College phase is a critical period of growth and development of students. Guidingstudents to cherish and love life, to pursuit of the meaning of life, and to realize thevalue of life and create a better life, is the sacred mission of life education in colleges.This paper consists of four parts:in the part I, humanism education though wasintroduced into college students’ life education as its fundmental basis by systematicallycombing humanism education thoughts and life education. The meanings of humanismeducation thought for life education for college students lie in that: college students’ lifeeducation ideally must respect students’ status of subject, pay more attention to personalexperience in educational process, and emphasize students ’ unity of the knowing anddoing and the self realization on the goal. Part II analyze the implementation of lifeeducation at home and abroad from the perspective of humanism educationthoughts,and came to the revelation by comparison. If life education want to go farther,it need to get more surports besides universities, to vigorously conduct study on thetheory of life education and to reasonably plan and train teachers. Part III consideredand analyzed the problems of life education for college students,and summarized themajor reasons of college students ’ life alienation. Only in this way, university can carryout the life education efficiently, thus completing the college life education and achievethe sacred mission of value of life.Part four based on making humanistic educationthinking into practice, it is necessary to make the life education specific and constructlife education course.All in all,the practice of college life education can reflect the people–centrededucational philosophy of humanism.it can be beneficial the students overalldevelopment and healthy growth. The expectation of this article can re-understand thestat of college life education, reflecting the co-exist phenomenon life education and thelack of educational practice, endowing the necessary human care with life education,helping students establish a positive, healthy and scientific life education, guidingstudents to pursue and achieve a better life.
