Background and Objectives:With the fast development of society, people are facing more and more pressure, thestudy found that32percent of college students more or less suffered from mental illness.Mental health problems have become the important factors of talent training, and peoplepay more attention to it. Cynical Attitudes is a negative attitude, it is appear when realityand the expected circumstances not consistent, the survey found, this negative attitudemay cause students to drop out of school, social disorder, impact on the students’psychological health seriously, personality factor are the key factor of mental problem.Different personality has different experience in the same environment, characteristicsuch as sensitive and the pursuit of perfect which from Morita Neurotic Character aremore prone to Cynical Attitudes. Morita Neurotic Character and Cynical Attitudes have agreat influence on the students’ psychological health. Therefore, I hope that through thisstudy to help educators and counselors take effective strategies to improve the mentalhealth level of College Students. Methods:A random sampling method was used in this study, we chose584college studentsand made the survey with Morita Neurotic Personality Questionnaire(MNPQ), CynicalAttitudes Scale(CS), Coping Style Scale(CSS). We analysed the relationship betweenCynicism toward College and Morita Neurotic Personality, included the influencingfactors. Statistical methods included the T-test, variance analysis, correlation analysis,regression analysis.Results:1. Among all these613students, the number of useful questionnaires is584. In theseuseful questionnaires,216of them have got a score of MNPQ not less than15,accounting for36.9%of the number of valid questionnaires. It includes400boys and184girls;248only-child and336non-only child;158students are freshmen,276students aresophomores and150students are juniors.2. Analysis the related factors of Cynical Attitudes, in gender aspect, between thetwo groups in the policy and institutional cynicism there was statistical difference(P=0.015,0.041); the score in social cynicism show that only-child and non-only-child,urban and rural areas are significantly different (t=-0.406,1.242, P <0.05); Whileacademic cynicism and score of cynicism in gender, place of residence, only-child andnon-only-child were no statistical difference (P>0.05). Junior’s cynical attitudes and thefour dimensions, in addition to the academic cynicism, were significant difference withlow grade students (P <0.05).3. Cynical Attitudes and four dimensions are significantly correlated with SocialAvoidance and Social Distress (P <0.01), have significant negative correlated withpositive coping styles (P <0.001). Policy cynicism is negative correlated with PositiveCoping Styles (P <0.01), Cynical Attitudes have significant positive correlation withNegative Coping Styles (P <0.001), Policy, Academic, Social, and Institutional cynicismhave positive correlation with Negative Coping Styles (P <0.01). 4. The college of Morita Neurotic Character in Positive Coping Styles weresignificant difference with non Morita Neurotic Character (t=-13.02, P <0.05), notsignificant in Negative Coping Styles, have significant difference in Policy, Academic,and Institutional cynicism (t=12.57,21.90,11.36, P <0.001), have significant differencein score of cynicism (t=27.39, P <0.01), have no significant difference in Socialcynicism (t=15.82, P>0.05).5. Morita Neurotic Character have significant positive correlation with CynicalAttitudes Policy, Academic, Social, and Institutional cynicism(r=0.743,0.513,0.691,0.596,0.499, P <0.01), have significant negative correlated with Positive Coping Styles(r=-0.586, P <0.01), have positive correlation with Negative Coping Styles(r=0.578, P <0.01).6. All variables regression analysis showed that explanation rate of Morita NeuroticCharacter, coping style on Cynical Attitudes was70.6%(F=230.141, P <0.01), thePolicy Cynical explanation rate was40.7%(F=65.758, P <0.01), the predict rate ofSocial Cynical was42.4%(F=70.793, P <0.01), the predict rate of Academic Cynicalwas56.2%(F=123.253, P <0.01), the predict rate of Institutional Cynical was34.9%(F=51.562, P <0.01), there was statistical significance.Conclusions:1. Morita Neurotic Character is more prevalent in college students, must focus onthis kind of students in the process of school mental health education.2. Cynical Attitudes of high grade students is stronger than low grades, differentgender and resident have important influence on the formation of Cynical Attitudes.Cynical Attitudes leads to students’ social barriers, use Positive Coping Styles caneffectively reduce the effect of Cynical Attitudes on students, Negative Coping Style mayincrease the effects.3. In the score of Positive Coping Style, the college students of Morita NeuroticCharacter significantly lower than Non Morita Neurotic Character, show that the college of Non Morita Neurotic Character face setbacks more use of Positive Coping Style.Morita Neurotic Character and Cynical Attitudes and its four dimensions have significantpositive correlation, show that the college of Morita Neurotic Characterare more prone toCynical Attitudes.4. Morita Neurotic Character is not a healthy personality, Morita Neurotic Characterpredict Cynical Attitudes negatively, on the premise of personality is not healthy, CynicalAttitudes more intense, more prone to psychological problems.
