The Study On Knowledge Sharing Mechanism In Industry-university-institute Alliance

With the development of knowledge economy, knowledge is increasingly becomingthe most valuable resource of the enterprises and organizations, thus people have a betterunderstanding of knowledge. Facing the complex external environment with the fastknowledge renewal and the complicated technology as well as fierce competition, moreand more enterprises realize their shortage of knowledge and begin to seek opportunitiesto cooperate with external organizations. Knowledge sharing in industry-university-institute alliance is an effective way for cooperation between enterprises and scientificresearch institution in university to patch each other’s superiority and achieve mutualbenefits and development, and it also can accomplish the transfer of technologicalresearch achievements of universities and strengthen independent innovation ability ofenterprises. As an important part of the national innovation system, theindustry-university-institute alliance made a rapid development and received a widepublicity in recent years. However, the knowledge sharing in the alliance is affected bymany complex factors because it’s a kind of intellectual activity that across the field. So alot of problems and conflicts that cause inefficient knowledge sharing performance arisein practice. Therefore, the research on the knowledge sharing mechanism inindustry-university-institute alliance is important.The research has defined a concept of knowledge sharing mechanism inindustry-university-institute alliance based on an amount of previous literature onrelevant research and analyzed the driving force of the knowledge sharing in the alliancein two respects from inside and outside. Meanwhile the research conducts a theoreticalanalysis on the performance of knowledge sharing in the alliance from four dimensions:sharing subject, sharing object, sharing carriers and sharing environment, and thenconstructs a conceptual model of knowledge sharing mechanisms for the alliance. Datawere collected by questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive analysis, factor analysis,correlation analysis and regression analysis by SPSS17.0.The result shows that there is a significant positive correlation between theperformance of knowledge sharing and sharing willingness, sharing capabilities,knowledge characteristics, sharing platform, system and service environment and sharingatmosphere. The regression result further reveals that sharing atmosphere, sharingcapabilities and knowledge characteristics have a significant positive effect on theperformance of knowledge sharing. Hereby, a proposal is advanced that more attentionshould be paid on the sharing capabilities and knowledge characteristics during theknowledge sharing in the alliance, and sharing environment should be built to promotethe knowledge sharing performance.
