With rapid economic development and strict one-child policy, we stepped into aging society, which is internationally recognized, in a short time. Due to the increasing aging tendency, a particular situation of growing old before growing wealthy and the changes in scale and structure of family, our country is facing an increasingly serious problem with support of old age. Comparing to it in cities, the pension problem in rural area is more conflicting. At present, home-based care services have been provided in big-middle cities in most provinces and municipality. However, there are difficulties in providing those services in the rural area, which are lack of public resources and weak in community building. How much do the aged in rural area know about home-based care services? How do they think about it? What kind of services do they prefer? Why do they accept this kind of services? Based on these questions, this thesis chose the p village in central Jiangsu region as a sample. Meanwhile, they have different kinds of needs in the care services. Thus, according to the survey, we can see that home-based care services can have an excellent adaptation to the society in rural area. In economic aspect, improvement in incomes and low-cost of home care provide economic foundation for local adaptability of home care; in cultural aspect, as the changes in traditional ideas of caring, attachment to acquaintances and support to the old’s spirit, old people don’t want to depend on neither children totally nor pension agencies, which are apart from their familiar surroundings; in social aspect, based on implementation of one-child policy, rapid population flow and extended life expectancy, traditional family structure in rural area changes to4-2-1structure, rural empty nester increases gradually and elderly population holds a growing trend. These weaken family supporting function and home-based care becomes one of the most realistic choices. On the other hand, during actual motion of home care in p village, biased understanding, fuzzy crowd positioning and defectiveness of employing professionals demand further perfect in home-based care. What’s more, policy makers and system executors need to make targeted improvement and accommodation for better local adaptation of home-based care services.
