The thesis is of a comprehensive and detailed analysis of Zhu Ziqing’s thoughton Chinese Language Education. I have deeply studied Zhu Ziqing’s events andwritings on Chinese language education on the basis of a lot of acquired authenticmaterials. As a result, I have outlined the whole system of Zhu Ziqing’s thought onChinese language education from the perspectives of general principles and detailedpractices, as well as I have built its theoretical framework. It is of great importance totake advantage of the worthwhile parts in Zhu Ziqing’s thought on Chinese languageeducation, which is supposed to be studied very deeply. In addition, Zhu Ziqing’sthought on Chinese language education continuously promotes the Chinese languageteaching up to date.The thesis consists of four chapters.The first chapter mainly introduces Zhu Ziqing’s activities, including teaching,editing and research, which are the origins and roots of his thought on Chineselanguage education. Moreover, these activities mirror the characteristics of histhought in different periods.The second chapter reveals the transformation of Zhu Ziqing’s thought onChinese language education in the context of the given social background. In line ofthe stages of historical development as well as the rules of Chinese languageeducation, I have divided Zhu Ziqing’s thought into three periods, i.e., the period offormation, the period of development and the period of maturity. From the aboveperiods, we will clearly gain an insight into the course of Zhu Ziqing’s thought onChinese language education.The third chapter offers the soul of Zhu Ziqing’s thought on Chinese languageeducation: personality education. This concept explains Zhu Ziqing’s opinion on theobjective of the subject of the Chinese language.The fourth chapter expounds the five parts in the system of Zhu Ziqing’s thoughton Chinese language education: the relationship of teachers and students, thecompilation of textbooks, teaching of reading, teaching of writing, and teaching of oral communication, hence constructing the theoretical system of Zhu Ziqing’sthought on Chinese language education.
