The treatise is of a case study of Chinese language educators in the history of Chinese language education; the subject of the case study is Zhu Ziqing. To date, the study of Zhu Ziqing's thought on Chinese language education has made initial progress. For deepening the study of Zhu Ziqing's thought on Chinese language education, I compiled The Chronicle of Zhu Ziqing's Events on Chinese Language Education, and The Concise Chronicle of Zhu Ziqing's Writings on Chinese Language Education, (see appendix of this thesis). After making detailed study of the whole process of the formation and development of Zhu Ziqing's thought on Chinese language education on the basis of these acquired authentic materials, I have outlined the system of his thought on Chinese language education from the perspectives of philosophy, principle and practice, and built the theoretical framework of Zhu Ziqing's thought on Chinese language education. The study of Zhu Ziqing's thought on Chinese language education is of importance taking advantage of Zhu Ziqing's thought on Chinese language education and promoting the transform of the Chinese language teaching in the new century.The treatise falls into four chapters:Chapter One: The Course of Zhu Ziqing's Practice of Chinese Language Education. It mainly introduces Zhu Ziqing's activities such as teaching, editing and teaching research, etc. These Chinese language education practices are the origin and root of his thought on Chinese language education; they mirror the characteristics of his thought on Chinese language education in different periods. By this course, It is clear to see how Zhu Ziqing developed his thought on Chinese language education.Chapter Two: The Process of Zhu Ziqing's Development of His Thought on Chinese Language Education. During the research, I analyze Zhu Ziqing's thought on Chinese language education in the context of the given social background. In line with the stages of historical development as well as the rule of development of Chinese language education, I divided the transformation of Zhu Ziqing's thought on Chinese language education into three periods, i.e., the period of formation (1920-1927); the period of development ( 1927-1937); and the period of maturity (1937--1948). From these periods, we will gain an insight into social foundation of the transformation of s Zhu Ziqing's thought on Chinese language education, outlining the course of his thought on Chinese language education.ChapterThree: the Philosophy of Education~the Core of Zhu Ziqing's Thought on Chinese Language Education. The treatise discusses the core of Zhu Ziqing 's thought on Chinese language education: The concept of personality education. It also expounds Zhu Ziqing's concept on the objective of the subject of the Chinese language, thus outlining the theoretical system of Zhu Ziqing 's thought on Chinese language education.Chapter Four: The Embodiment of Zhu Ziqing's Thought on Chinese Language Education. The treatise expounds the richness of Zhu Ziqing's thought on Chinese language education from the five aspects: the relationship of teachers and students, the compilation of textbooks, teaching of reading, teaching of writing, and teaching of oral communication, hence constructing the theoretical system of Zhu Ziqing's thought on Chinese language education.
