| The non-material culture heritage of Tujia ethnic group is an important part of Chinese culture. In the background of more and more attention to the protection of the diversity of cultural heritage both at home and abroad, the government officials in the Tujia ethnic group also formulate policies and implement plans for the protection and inheritance of Tujia arts and culture. One of the important measures is to place the ethic arts and culture of this region into the contents of the primary and secondary school teaching, and there are now many local schools which have implemented or are ready to open the local culture courses on music, dance, drama, language which have been crowned with success, however, there is no curriculum construction and research on fine arts. To bring Tujia arts and culture into classroom will restore the young generation’s memory of ethic culture and enhance their identity with folk culture, so that this precious treasure could be better preserved and inherited. This paper focuses on the research of applying Tujia arts and culture into the art teaching of the middle schools in Enshi area with an aim of showing humane care. It studies the characteristics of Tujia arts, the innovation and construction of teaching mode, and put these contents into different teaching methods and activity forms in order to embody the humane care of teaching activities and research the effects of teachers’ teaching and students’learning. It is found that after the application of Tujia arts and culture in the middle schools classrooms in Enshi area, students’interests are improved significantly, and their attentions are focused more. They could memorize by understanding, therefore, they master the knowledge more firmly and their innovative thinking gets fine protection and development. What is more important is the liberation and respect for students’personality and the focus on their spiritual life. Emancipate the mind, be equal and free, respect students’principle position and individual difference, care about human’s diversified special needs, arouse human’s initiative, enthusiasm and creativity, and promote human’s all-round development. The cultural care behind education is also an attitude of respect for oneself, people around him, environment and even everything. The new model construction, taking the standard of national fine arts curriculum as its basis, Dewey’s experiential learning theory, Vygotsky’s cognitive development theory, Piaget’s epistemology as the theory support, is carried out by mainly asking questions and launching activities. The teaching results show that mixing Tujia traditional arts and culture into the middle school arts teaching in Enshi area can better reflect the humanistic quality education under the new course reform, which is an effective teaching method to inherit and protect Tujia arts and culture as well as improve students’happiness. |
