Studies indicate that attribution style has an important influence on individual mental health. What’s the attribution style of opportunity school students? How is their mental health level? How are the correlations between the two? This study is devoted to these questions. Through the research on the students of opportunity schools, we can make out their attribution style and the characteristics of mental health level, so that effective intervention methods can be explored, which has a vital significance to the education and transform of opportunity school students.Employing MMCS and SCL-90, the questionnaire survey on attributive style and mental health was conducted in opportunity schools and common schools. Reliability analysis, utility analysis, descriptive statistics, T-test of independent sampler and correlation analysis are carried out for the survey data. The findings of the study are as following:(1) Opportunity school students and common school students have obvious differences in their attribution of failures in Scholastic achievement.(2) Opportunity school students and common school students have apparent differences in their attribution of failures in interpersonal communication. More opportunity school students ascribe the failure to the unfavorable external environment.(3) Opportunity school students and common school students have notable differences in their mental health level in interpersonal relations. Opportunity school students have lower level of mental health.(4) Opportunity school students and common school students have remarkable differences in their anxiety level. Opportunity school students have significantly high anxiety level than common school students.(5) The attribution style of opportunity school students has relationship with their mental health level. Incorrect maybe attribution results in their lower mental health level.
