After nearly30years of development, private colleges has become an important component of China’s higher education, its contribution to the progress of Higher Education is obvious in our country. However, at the same time of achievements, private colleges are faced with the grim problems of existence. One is source of students that puzzles the survival and development of private colleges. The other is students’drop-out of school hinder the healthy development of private colleges. Huge students’drop-out of school not only reduces the number of students, but also makes a serious impact on the reputation of school. How to reduce students’ drop-out of school is a problem needed to be solved immediately, for realizing healthy and sustainable development of private colleges.In this paper, we make A Private Colleges in Beijing as a case study, where I study and work to study the problem of students’ drop-out. We used the method of literature to comb the private higher education policies and regulations promulgated by the State, research the situation of source of students, employment status, and the drop-out problem of vocational school students, then established the idea of this study. The methods we used are questionnaires, statistics, cases and interviews. The object of study is private colleges’ managers, teachers and students. We collected students’ drop-out specific data of seven grades from2004grade to2010grade of this school. First of all, this article shows the overall situation of students’ drop-out of the private College, including the number, characteristics and direction after drop-out; Secondly, we analyzed the influence factors of students’ drop-out from social, family, students, and school, found that the most important impact factor was school; Finally, from the point of view of the school management, we come up with corresponding countermeasures to deal with school enrollment, management, teaching, the employment; And provides some rationalization recommendations for school administrators as a reference, hoping to better reduce students’ drop-out, so as to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the school.
