With the continuous expansion of the scale of post-graduate education, theproblem of education quality is increasingly prominent. This study focused on mastertraining quality of Educational Economy and Management from the Shanghai NormalUniversity. Meanwhile, master’s dissertation and training system were studied. Thispaper revealed the situation of the masters cultivation, and some relevantsuggestions were put forward.By taking content analysis, the study analyzed master’s dissertation onEducational Economy and Management, from the thesis, research methods, citationand writing norms, respectively. The corresponding proposal was offered: strengthenthe study of theory; coordinate the time conflict of postgraduate employment andthesis writing; increase economic and management science courses, in order topromote graduate students’ knowledge structure equalization development, whomajor in Educational Economy and Management; pay attention to the scientificresearch methods, statistics and other technical courses, so as to strengthen researchtraining for graduate students; improve the application level of foreign language,meanwhile provide funding for the graduate students academic activities;reinforcethe construction of library resources to provide them with the convenience ofobtaining document resources.Postgraduate training system of Educational Economy and Management fromShanghai Normal University was analyzed, by the rational choice institutionalism. Wefound that the current system could not guarantee the education quality ofpostgraduate. Accordingly, I recommend Educational Economy and Managementpostgraduate should be the implementation of classification training mode, namely:change single "academic" graduate students as "academic&professional-type"binary training mode. This paper was discussed from the training goal, entrancesystem, curriculum system, tutors instruction, master’s dissertation and qualityevaluation:(1)On the training target, academic master should focus on the cultivationof discipline basic theoretical knowledge and scientific research innovation ability, for universities and research institutes to train teaching staff, scientific researchers ortalent reserves studying for a doctorate; professional master pay attention to trainingapplication ability, which offers high-level specialized talents oriented to all walks oflife, mainly training management personnel in education system.(2)On theadmissions link, we determine to recruit students in a reasonable proportion, whointend to academic or professional master, according to the tutors’ background, theteaching practice base and students’ willingness.(3)On the curriculum system,academic masters course system is with "scientific research" as the guide, focusingon the study of theory; professional masters guided by "professional ability",stressing the cultivation of practical ability.(4)On the guidance of instructors,academic master can take a combination of teacher guidance and academiccommittee collective instruction so that tutors’ teaching and academic require ahigher level; professional master can take double tutorial system, so the teachersshould have good professional background and practical experience.(5)On thedissertations, academic masters degree paper type should be theoretical researchand pay attention to innovative and forward-looking; professional masters degreethesis should be emphasis on applied research, highlighting its theoretical applicationlevel.(6)On the quality evaluation, academic masters scientific research and academicability as the main indicator; professional masters actual work performance as themain evaluation criteria.
